As the leaves change and the weather becomes chillier, you may wonder how to pass the time. I have heard many complain that without a significant other, they have no desire to do anything during this beautiful time of year. They feel alienated by the hand holding, mistletoe kissing, and fireside cuddling couples out there. Well I am here to tell you there are plenty of activities to occupy a single adult’s time during Fall!
One thing that I love to do during the fall months is cuddle up with a cup of hot chocolate and a good book. If you’re an avid reader like me, why don’t you brush the dust off your local library card and make some use of it. You can get lost in an adventure, romance, thriller, women’s fiction, suspense, and the list goes on.
If reading really isn’t your thing, grab a few friends and go to a movie. There are lots of great releases coming out this fall. I’m looking forward to the third installment of the Hunger Games. I plan on grabbing a pal, bucket of buttery popcorn, cherry coke, and enjoying a few hours of entertainment. Check out your local movie theater and see what’s going on.
Another great thing I enjoy during the Fall and Christmas Season would be the many Christmas Programs that Churches put on. It’s usually free or only a few bucks out of your pocket. My church, Calvary Assembly of God always puts together a great Christmas Program entitled: Christmas Now and Then. It’s a huge production filled with all sorts of Christmas characters, and the story of Jesus’ birth. They combine past and present in a beautifully organized show.
Speaking of Christmas productions at church, why don’t you sign up to help with your church’s program. You don’t have to be an actor or singer to help out. They need people in all walks of life from set design to greeters at the door. Volunteer a few hours from your week and give back to the church.

I understand the loneliness you can feel during the Fall season. Something about cold weather makes you want to cuddle with someone special, but don’t forget that you are never alone because God is always beside you.
Enjoy the time you have to be carefree and try different things. Get a group and try out that restaurant you’ve been dying to eat at. Bundle up and go to a haunted house. Go buy that 10,000-piece jigsaw puzzle and put it together. Whatever it is you like, go for it!
I would love to hear your favorite fall activities, so leave a comment.
