So I've come to the conclusion that you don't need to be in a relationship to be happy. You don't have to make a bunch of life changes to make yourself better, and you don't have to look any further than the blessings God has given you to find your worth.
All you have to do is look at your life from a different perspective. Be happy with where you are right now in your life. Focus on the positives instead of the negatives.
I have the best support system a girl can have. My family backs my choices one hundred percent. When I told them I was quitting teaching to pursue a writing career, they all but threw a party. Well...they did kind of throw a party too. They took time out of their lives to help me pack and move back home. When I get discouraged about my choices and wonder if I've done the right thing, they encourage me and remind me why God has put me on this path.
I have a job that I really enjoy. It provides time for writing while also giving me the financial resources I need to pay my bills. It's a lot less stressful than teaching, and I feel more alive than I have in a long while.
My debut novel is well on it's way to being published. The release date is April 14, 2015. God put this story in my heart, and now He's making my dream a reality. If I would have ignored this calling, I'm not sure where I'd be today.
Is everything perfect in my life? No, but that doesn't mean I can't be happy where I am right now. Because where I am right now is where God put me. Looking at all the positives in my life helps me to have the strength to work on the changes I need to make so my life becomes even better.
